About
Me
My name is Laura Lund. I became interested in natural
childbirth during the pregnancy of my second child. My
first baby's birth in May 2000 was medicated (IV narcotics
and an epidural) and it took place in a hospital attended by
a doctor. With my second baby, I knew I wanted something
different so I began researching natural childbirth. It
turned out to be an addictive pastime for me. I took
HypnoBirthing® classes and switched to planning a home birth
with a midwife. I also used recorded scripts from
Hypnobabies. My second baby was born at home in the
water after a 5 hour painless labor in April 2002.
After her birth I became intensely interested in helping
other women experience natural childbirth. I became a doula
and started teaching natural childbirth classes in 2003. I
enjoyed teaching childbirth education to Utah couples, but
felt that I wanted to specialize in hypnosis, which is what
I used to have such an enjoyable, comfortable birth
experience.
In January 2004 I certified as a HypnoBirthing®
Practitioner through the
HypnoBirthing InstituteTM.
I certified as a doula through the
Doulas of
North America in May 2004. I gave birth to my third
child in October 2004 at home in the water using hypnosis. In 2006 I chose not to recertify with the
HypnoBirthing Institute and instead certified to teach
Hypnobabies that June. I am thrilled to teach the
Hypnobabies program to women and their partners because I
know it is the most effective childbirth hypnosis course
available due to phenomenal relaxation and hypno-anesthesia
techniques (many hypnosis for birth programs do not teach
hypno-anesthesia). Hypnobabies is also a complete childbirth
education course, which means it includes consumer
information (so that you will know how to get the birth you really
want!). To find out why I no longer teach HypnoBirthing®
the Mongan Method,

I love hypnosis for childbirth. I know it works. That's
why I teach it. I love working with pregnant and birthing
women and love helping to make birth the peaceful, enjoyable
experience it should be for parents and their babies. I
especially enjoy teaching Hypnobabies childbirth hypnosis
classes because I know that my students are receiving a
complete childbirth education with the added benefits of
very effective hypno-anesthesia techniques.

Birth Philosophy
I believe that birth is a normal, natural process--not a
medical event. I believe that positive, joyful birth becomes
a reality when women make confident decisions based on fact
rather than fear or misinformation, when they are supported
fully by their partners and providers, and when they allow
themselves to relax and enjoy the process. My goal is to
facilitate your learning and to instill confidence in your
ability to give birth naturally.
